[ATM] literarture on ronchi testing

I'd like to understand the Ronchi test in more detail.  Is there any 
literature that explains the optics/ray-tracing/mathematics of the test 
and the lines?

I've a lead on a book called "Classical Optics and its Applications" by 
Masud Masuripur which is unfortunately out of the library at the 
moment.  Does anyone know what it's chapter on the Ronchi test is like?

Any other suggested sources? Online?
