[ATM] Mirror Coating Recommendations, Anyone?

Actually yes I have used them in November, and I may well be the first
as well.

Jim, you may recall Steve Swayze refigured my 13.1" primary that I'm in
the process of building around. He told me about this fellow at L&L who
used to do all the coatings at that now-defunct coating company in CA
whose name I've just forgotten, but I'm sure you will remember it. It
was that highly-reputed one on the West coast that Steve and others
used for years in addition to Spectrum on the other coast. Steve
assured me it was the same person starting up again at L&L, but that he
had never sent one there yet.

Anyway, I decided to go with him, Steve sent it off and got it back
within a week, and was very happy with it when it came back. I can't
test it until I finish my scope, but I can say that the turn around was
fast, it looks good, and it's that very same, experienced coater from..
you know.. (why can't I remember?) I'll let you see it for yourself one
of these days.

How long will it hold up? 2 years? 10? That we don't know, but it does
look great ... now to get it into an instrument and make it earn its
keep!

Tom
p.s. sorry i missed the workshop today.
