[ATM] Ion Assisted Mirror Coating

Hi All,

Any comments on the merits of Ion Assisted Deposition coating?  Not sure 
where it was, but someone thought the base material was smoothed out a 
bit with the IAD process. (If that's the case, perhaps several 
bombardments may be in order?)  What about re-coating after such a process?

Bottom line is I am also going to have primary mirrors coated and was 
wondering if I should get something different than Beral. I have 8" 
mirrors, and I spent so much time on them and the scope, I would hate to 
skimp on the coating.  Seems like an easy (I didn't say low-cost) way to 
improve performance.
