Is it Richard Barry's book that shows some side posts with RTV squeezed in to
keep the mirror from shifting?   I use that method myself.  6 points instead of
one central.

So.  Central post.  Not new.  That was the answer to the original question.  His
variation, one glue point on the back.  Probably not as optimal as other
solutions already in place.  Even the oft maligned, not too tight, mirror
clips. ;-)
