I don't know that you even need a mold.  Would it not suffice to make a 
cylinder or truncated cone from heavy paper and paint that with 
successively thicker coats of polyester resin?  How precise does it need 
to be anyways?

As for mold release, polyester resin doesn't seem to stick to the 6mil 
plastic sheeting used for vapor barrier or paint guards.  Wrap that on 
first, then work over it.
