  If I'm reading all this correct, you are trying to use a series of
webcams to obtain a
wider field in a given optical system than one webcam will give you. right?

  This is already done. Several >free< programs exist that will build up an
image as
the object drifts by, and is particularity useful for those using an
undriven mount.
Did I mention that most of the programs are FREE?

links. Others have
taken this feature to produce exactly what you are proposing (assuming I'm
reading
your question correctly) This is just a start, you might just want to join
