For telescopes and lenses aperature has nothing to do
with magnification but focal length does.

 I thought you said you were making some sort of
refactor out of the CCD chips. Will you be putting a
lens in front of them to focus the light?  If so then
that is done by many people.  It is not much different
than attaching a film camera to the scope.  I assumed
you were not talking about that because it is quite
common. It works equally well with either reflectors
or refractors.
