How hard would it be to re-work the mirror cell so that the pivots are
closer to the mirror? From what I can figure out...the closer the
pivots to the mirror's back, the better...if you are going to RTV the
cell to the mirror, and not use an edge support.
If you use an edge support, then I recommend you not RTV the mirror to
the cell.
No matter what route you choose I recommend you do the best you can to
avoid stiction in all moving components...pivots, edge support, etc.
