ATM coatings
Hi,
This is a splendid forum. I find extreme coutesy.
We are willing to strip Mr. Bottman's mirror.
It is true that chromium can be difficult to strip, especially after it
ages. We use it because it increase adhesion with metals, especially of gold
and silver. As a result we carry the neccessary materials to strip chromium.
We prefer to the most bening processes in stripping mirrors. I was shocked
by how much damaged various acids can do to certain glasses. Those findings
were in one of the ATM Journals a few months ago. Barlow Pepin handed that
issue to me.
We wiill look into new ideas and suggestions from the ATM community. At our
disposal we have 3 e-beam coaters and and assorted spectrometers and other
testing equipment.
We avoid criticising competitors and individuals, because we have found that
most, if not all, have good intentions. A simple one-on-one is all that is
needed to solve difficulties.
Again, feel free to suggest any ideas or requests. I have been an atm for a
long time.
