Something you might want to do for insurance is to put a mounting plate 
between your wood tube and the focuser.  I did this when we built our 
club's scope because I didn't know if the focuser was going to be permanent 
or not, and didn't want to have to patch holes if there was a change.  If 
you find you have to move the focuser because you ran out of primary mirror 
adjustment, you can make a new mounting plate to cover the old focuser hole 
and the scope will still look "pure" from the outside.  Just keep people 
from nosing around inside the tube ;).
