I have been discussing possible changes to the site with Michael
Lindner. As an opens source software fan, I thought of trying something
along the lines of what the "Source Forge" does. Short version. You
want to do a web page on focusers. You go the site and see if anyone
else is doing that. If yes, see if you have anything to add. Maybe add
a compleatly differnt approach to the ongoing work. If no one else has
taken it up, start that section. That way we hopefully end up with a
good comprehensive one stop shop for focusers. Tired of seeing 404 when
going through those book marks?
Michael said his experience in that area is that it could lead to some
headaches. He suggested looking at http://c2.com/cgi/wiki as an
alternative. We had some very good people step forward when Roger
Ceragioli offered to do the refractor article. I probably missed the
boat not utilizing more of that talent then. One thing that we still
don't have is a "Newbie start here" walk through. Much of what is
needed for that is on the site.
How about pulling Ron's shop tips out of the archives and putting them
all into one place? With his permission of course. :-) (example of
something that might be done) ALL rights remain with the authors.
Email me off list if you are interested or have some experience you want
to donate to the cause.
