That is a very beautiful and unique scope!  I like all the cut outs, 
especially in the mirror and rocker boxes - very yin/yang.  It looks like 
the upper section telescopes toward the bottom section by the aluminum 
tubes sliding on the black rectangular-cross-section piece.  What is the 
black piece made from?  Also, it's hard to tell from the photos, but are 
the friction clamps knobs or the Lee Valley levers?

I also like the EQ platform design.  It looks like the mirror box rides 
directly on the top of the platform.  Does it attach permanently or do you 
have to unbolt it?  I've been trying to design something low-profile that 
could stay permanently attached, and have been trying to figure out how it 
would be done.
