ATM Binocular question
I hope I don't wear out my welcome here, but I have to say
that everyone here is a great source of information and I
appreciate the help.
I just got in a pair of 7x50 binocs that I bought on e-bay.
After looking through them I feel like I'm cross-eyed!
Since the lenses are fixed, I assume this just means the prisms
are out of alignment. I have disassemble them and since I went
that far, I am cleaning everything.
The primary objectives are cemented around the edges, but it's
a soft gummy substance and since the lenses were moving apart
from each other, I just went ahead and pulled them apart and
cleaned them, gummy substance and all. Would it be alright to
put the binoculars back together with the lenses "Air-spaced"
or is there a certain type of cement I should use to put the lenses
back together?
