ATM Correcting stupid Mistakes

Hi All,

I just posted two Ronchi images of the mirror I am working on on my website.
http://www.avatm.com/ronchi.htm It seems as though I am dealing with a bit
( okay, a lot) of TDE. (I am hoping these images will help in the
diagnosis.) Tomorrow I will most likely go ahead and pour a full size lap
to work this out with but was wondering if there are any useful techniques
that I may have overlooked with my 8" lap. It is approx. 82% the size of
the mirror which is just under 9.75". I have been working the mirror with
the 8" lap with an inverse star pressed into the center. So far this does
seem to be bringing up the center as the ronchi images are now showing a
slight hill begining to form. I am just not sure if this will get me where
I want to go or not. The stroke I am using is CoC with less than 1"
overhang with the lap on top. I would like to correct this and any
suggestions are welcome. Well short of the Fire Hydrant that is! : )

Thanks,

Jack Day
