ATM Need some suggestions on a figure...
Hi All,
I have been working on a 9.75" mirror that is approx. f/6.1. The ronchi
images now are quite interesting and I know what I have, Just not sure which
way to go from here. Inside of RoC image is like this:
http://www.phil.uu.nl/~gjv/atm/ronchi04.jpg With the curves at the end of
the lines being quite a bit more severe. On the outside this is what I
have: http://www.phil.uu.nl/~gjv/atm/ronchi03.jpg The curved parts of the
outside of the mirror here show again much more severe curvature. This
suggests a profile like this of the mirror:
http://www.phil.uu.nl/~gjv/atm/surf-D.jpg . I currently have two laps, an
8" lap and a 5" Star lap.
I am tempted to attack the outside and try to drop it down some. Or perhaps
I should just keep going CoC with about 1/2" of overhang... Any thoughts
would be apreciated. If nothing else this baby is WELL polished out.
Thanks,
Jack Day
