FWIW, Tom Clark (of Tectron fame) has been publishing some interesting ATM 
articles in his Amateur Astronomy Magazine.  Last issue (#32) there was an 
article with pictures about John Hall's Pegasus Optics workshop.  This 
latest issue (#33) there's an article on building a spectacular 16" Dob with 
homebew, cut gear altaz bearings.  Also an interesting piece by John 
Lightholder on his grinding machines and techniques.  And a few other nice 
ATM articles...
