Should work but even cured epoxy is not all that hard. You
might consider JB weld which is epoxy filled with metal
powder or something - it has been used to make worm gears
using Nylon threaded rod as the mold. 48mm eyepiece threads
are pretty fine though & cross threading/jamming could
be a problem. Maybe making a couple of test threads would
be advisable? Also, mold release agents might interfere with
the uncured epoxy by mixing with it.
