After seeing some of the best ground based amateur
telescope ccd images
of the planets I am left wondering the following
things (bearing in mind I have never looked
through a dedicated planetary
telescope).
Given the same scope, which will discern more
detail:-
An expert trained human eye or the most expensive
commercially available ccd?
Did Clyde Tombaugh see some of the best detail with
his 16in F10 scope?
What scope would give the optimum
performance?
