Re: ATM generations
Snips from Ron's post
>Glass will cut very easily with a continuos-rim diamond blade
Yes, I had a chance to use a continuos rim diamond band saw a couple of
times. It was magical, like the proverbial butter and hot knife. One
piece of glass was a crown, there were no problems. The other was a flint,
it overheated and fractured twice. Luckily on practice cuts. I turned up
the coolant and turned down my impatience. I've used circular blades to
split Pyrex blanks edge wise several time. I've had a hard time lining up
the cut.
>...Another idea not previously mentioned is a diamond router bit.
I had no idea such tools existed. Diamond dremel bits yea, but not router
bits. Thanks Ron.
>...coated with some 30 grit diamond.
I would think so coarse a grit might cause a lot of chipping, but I'll try
it on your expert recommendation.

Yea but they last forever, or until some dumb *$&# comes along and uses it
on cement like I told her not to.
>...a custom-made diamond sintered cup.
I took a length of cast off diamond sintered blade and hose clamped it to a
capped steel pipe. Didn't even have to dumpster dive for this one.
