ATM roughing my 12.5 stnd

Hello,

This is my first post with this list, and I have a
question about my procedure. I'm grinding a 12.5 f5
stnd blank and am very close to my desired sag but I
still have a 3/4" ring around the outside edge
untouched by the grit. I plan to turn the mirror up
and use w stroke to work it up...Will it hurt me to
put some  pressure on the tool, or just let the weight
of the tool do it's thing. I'm using a 10" plate tool
and I feel the weight difference might be an issue.
This is only my second mirror, I'm sure I'll be back.
