Many thanks to everybody who responded to my query about the vignetting
problem on and off list. the concesus seems to be that it isn't quite as bad
a problem as I feared it might be. A lot of people have recommended a 2 in
focuser as the best solution while others have said the 1.25 in is OK for
most situations.

I think I will opt for a 2 in focuser with the interchangeable adapter for
the 1.25 in eyepieces. I can then start with 1.25 and then switch to 2 in if
there are any problems as one person suggested.

I think I will have a go at making my own focuser if I can track down
suitable tubing material. I'll take a look at the archives to see if I can
find some designs.
