The TV projection lens I have is about 4" diameter and about f/1.  Not much
good as  a telescope objective.
However I did manage to hold it up behind a 6" Astro-Physics with a 4"
focuser. The view was pretty impressive, very low power (It is a 100mm
eyepiece.) and could almost view the image with both eyes at the same time.
If I ever get around to building a 4" focuser I plan to mount it up on the 8
inch scope. This project is worth doing in my opinion.
