Benoit,

What you see there is a specialized design that is
easily slewed to many different points in the sky in
quick succession during an observing run in order to
gather photometric data. The scope shown would be a
terrible imaging instrument. If you like this design
and the thought of building a similar instrument, you
would be interested in its history and developement.
