The way I mount my smaller finders is as shown in the 
diagram below. This way you only have to turn one 
screw at a time and the spring keeps the finder hard 
up against the screws. Obviously there are two of 
these arrangements, one at the front and the other at
 the eyepiece end of the finder. I make them out of 
3mm aluminium bent to shape with braces at the corners
 just glued in. To tap the screw holes just make the 
holes slightly small and just use a screw of the right
 size to tap the hole. For the mounting plate that 
mounts to the sonotube, just shape the bottom plate 
to a round shape by bashing around something hard that
 is about the same size as your tube. Then just drill 
some holes and mount making sure your use reasonable 
size washers so you don't pull thru the sonotube.
