Its hard to say that it doesn't matter at all with out testing the finished
mirror, but from your description it sounds like it won't matter at all.
This "allignment mark" is where you will orient a mirror cell clip.  I have
an allignment mark just like this on a 8" mirror.  After it was
re-aluminized, I couldn't find it.  Grind more, worry less.
