ATM Ahh ! Crack in mirror. Please advise

Hi all,
The tool hit the side of the mirror softly after one of the last wets of 
fine grinding. The mirror is not chipped, but cracked. The crack is 1/16" 
thick from the top of the mirror and comes right at the bevel edge, and has 
roughly 1/8" radius. The edges don't seen brittle.
I want to know if polishing will eventually knock the chip out for sure or 
if the mirror quality is geopardized anyway.
Has anyone had this problem ?
