Re: ATM The Ideal Camera
A note about Hasselblades- They are generally considered to be the best
cameras in the world- standard equipment for fasion photographers and top
portriate artists. They are also standard equipment on US space flights.
The backs which hold the film are made to be swapped in mid roll. A
stainless steel sleve is inserted to cover the film, and then the back pops
off (in daylight). Thus allowing for different films to be used as needed-
without having to finish the roll. They do not contain the shutter mechanism.
Hasselblad backs are available for 6cm x 6cm and 6cm x 4.5cm formats and
poleroid formats. They are $1000 new and $50 to $500 on ebay.
They use 120 and 220 roll film, standard portriate film and widely available
from all manufactures. The same film is used for 2-1/4" x 2-1/4", or 6cm x
4.5cm, or 6cm x 7cm, or 6cm x 6cm camera formats. You can buy kodak mailers
and mail them for procssing. The last time I did this (many years ago) is
was a little more expensive than the 35mm mailers, but not much.
