My SLR, a Praktica BC-1, takes a battery I have a heck of a time getting hold of, one of
those 6v, same diameter as AAA, about 3/4 inch long ones. When I do find them they are
$$$$$. Now Just recently I found a dollar store that sells packs of 1.5v button cells for
10 for a dollar, the biggest size fits nicely width wise, so I stack 4 of these in the
battery compartment and since they are about 1/8" short, I wedge a nut or a ball of
aluminum foil in the end. Works great. If your camera doesn't take exactly the same type,
then maybe you can think of a similar wrinkle, you can probably find somewhere to get the
cells 50c each if you can't get them 10 for a dollar.

regards, steady hands and steady skies!
