Re: ATM 35MM- Camera
I used a CANON F1 for many years. I purchased it while I was on a one
year government sponsored trip to Southeast Asia in 1969. It was the
first camera to come with a standard f/1.2 lens. I also bought a 135mm
Canon lens. One of the photography mags at the time stated that Canon
had the best optics of all the big name cameras. This camera is a
battleship....it weighs a ton, but it survived about 8 months in Viet
Nam, then years of chasing race cars around the northeast with a
professional photographer friend. Other than needing a cleaning and
batteries, it is still in good workable condition.
The Canon is far to heavy to use at the eyepiece (as are many of the
older manual 35mm's). I had an OM-1 for several years for that, and it
was excellent. I also have a Minolta SRT-102 with a Sigma 135mm f/1.8
lens (fantastic lens!!!). Too bad I don't have time to do more
astrophotography.
