RE: ATM Re: Glass Balls
Hello Vance,
I have seen rock spheres made using a section of cast iron pipe mounted
vertically on a turntable. The rock or glass sphere is first roughly cut to
a sphere. Then the rock held by hand, to the rotating pipe and ground with
abrasives. It is the same process as mirror making, but with a much smaller
ROC. Polish using felt on the cast iron and CO or rouge. One could also use
pitch for better accuracy.
