Go ahead and start with glazed tiles and no bevel.
By the time you get to about 220 grit, you will only see a little bit of
glaze left on the edges.
Being harder than the tile, any isolated bits of glaze are more likely to
break off than to wear off.
Bevel them off, and you avoid that one possible source of scratches.
You can bevel them easily with a Dremel tool with a little diamond grit
metal wheel.
It's a good idea to do this before you get to 500 grit; the bevel will last
from this point.
