For the third time... the item in question was a "Focal Point" READER
opinion piece.  It was not written by S&T and DOES NOT represent S&T's
editorial position.  Most specifically it most emphatically DOES NOT
represent my point of view as editor of Telescope Techniques.

Doubtlessly this would have been clearer to Chris if he had read the piece
before sitting down at the keyboard to register his indignation.
