Richard,  I don't particularly like it, but I have several trash cans
around the house, just as I have a "DELETE" function on my computer
screen.  I imagine that Steve was just trying to recoup some of his
losses. 

I find the people who call me at all hours on the phone much more
irritating.  It's hard to be civil at times; the other two don't require
me to keep my temper while eating dinner.  I have to remember that the
callers are just trying to make a living.

I have an answering machine, which I personally find ineffective and
rude, and "Caller ID" which I may not be near to read.  Hopefully, I
will be receiving mail from astronomical/scientific organizations.  I
can handle that.  At least you know that he is selling the list.  How
many others (Publisher's Clearing House, et. al., your insurance
company, bank, even the church you attend) are doing the same thing and
not telling you?
