RE: ATM NEW 30 INCH FROM 1 INCH PLATE GLASS !

        It struck me also as a preliminary report on a very
        ambitious first effort.  The goals for the mirror as stated
        on the web page imply that even a half-wave, partially
        polished, astigmatic objective would be considered
        acceptable at this stage of their work.

        I would like to give these guys more time and encouragement
        to refine their glass pushing, mounting, and mirror testing
        skills and see if they can ultimately do better.
        So far, all signs look good.
