This stuff is being handled under water.  It is not a problem!
The molecules are rather big so they don't go throught the
pores of the skin.  I agree that you don't want it to dry out.
If you smoke, the risk for a lung disorder is probably very
high indeed.

You probably get a larger exposure (to dust) driving on a dry 
dusty road.  Or down a street that was sanded during the last 
snow storm and the sand is being ground to dust.
