ATM Atomic clock/GPS stuff...

All,

So far my original post regarding syncing PC clocks
to atomic clocks has broken into 2 seperate threads.
One regarding accurate positioning with GPS and the
other regarding several methods of obtaining accurate
time information.

All, I can say is...Jeeez, ask a simple question! ;-)

Honestly, I am following both of these threads with
great interest and have learned more than I originaly
barganed for.

My original intent was not to get my systems timing
accurate to the microsecond level but at least to a
reasonable fraction of a second.

I am toying with the idea of doing occultation timing
and perhaps orbiting sattelite observation and just
wanted to get the time close enough for an automated
scope (future project or purchase) to find and begin
viewing/tracking of these events.

Anyway, this stuff is great reading and it is being
filed away in the "gray matter" here. It sounds like
several ATM'ers have already jumped into these types
of projects and are well on thier way to some very
cutting edge scopes.
