ATM Any tips on applying Kydex?

I'm working on the secondary cage for a Kriege/Berry style dob. Soon I'll
be attaching the Kydex to the secondary cage and I'm wondering if anyone
has any pointers? From the book "The Dobsonian Telescope", it mentions
cutting the kydex to length pi*D, putting it in the freezer rolled up
and the trying to attach it. It seems like the length is critical
and needs to be straight. This is what I'm planning on doing:

Cut the length a bit long. Put the Kydex in the Freezer and let it
cool down. Pull it out, put it on a mat cutter and cut it exactly
pi*D in length. Roll it up and then apply it cold. Does this sound
like a good process? Am I worrying too much about how much it
expands and contracts? If I apply it cold, will I have trouble with
it buckling when warm? Any advice you experienced kydex appliers
have is appreciated.
