ATM Focuser recommendation

Hi!

I have a Meade Starfinder Newtonian 8" f/6 and have just
recently updated to 1.25" eyepieces UWA 14, UWA 6.7 & SPL
32.

The standard focuser that came with the telescope (rack &
pinion) is out-of-focus by itself in some positions,
specially when the heavier eyepiece is used. Fine
adjustments are a little bit difficult too.

Shall I try a different design? Which one would you
recommend? Could a new focuser cause some problems in the
telescope performance?

I´ve been told that JMI are an interesting choice, but I 
have no more information than the adveretise in S&T.  Has 
anyone some experience to share with me?
