Re: [ATM] Mirror Grinders in IL?

Hi Larry,

You may want to contact Jim Seevers, formally of the Alder Planetarium,
Chicago. He used to run the Mirror Making shop at the Adler until they got
rid of it during their expansion project. He "inherited" all the equipment
and has setup shop in Lansing, IL. He runs classes on Saturdays, usually by
appointment. You can call him at (219) 902-1817. The shop is located at
18327 Stewart Ave, Lansing. He may want to pick your brain about building a
kiln that can melt Pyrex to make mirror blanks. We've been "dreaming" about
making large mirrors :-) Tell him I sent you (no I don't get a finder's fee
:-)

Subject: [ATM] Mirror Grinders in IL?

Hi,

I've wanted to learn how to grind my own mirror for a long time and now J
finally have the time. Is there anyone in central Illinois who might be
willing to mentor a little? Or at least answer a few questions as I go
through the process.
