Hi All,

Yep the blank is out of the kiln, it looks quite good, not perfect by any
means, but well within the "useable range".

I'm currently cleaning the back structure prior to doing a strain test so I
will post a major update over the weekend once I get the last of the mold
material removed; thank <insert deity here> for 400psi water blasters!

All the talk about light weight mirrors got me to get off my arse and put up
the pictures I've been meaning to put up for a couple of hours now. So thank
you.

 

Basically I'm casting a 16" cellular mirror blank 2.5" thick with the face
plate being about 13mm (1/2") thick, I say about as it's contoured to be
able to take an F3 curve and have a near uniform final thickness.
