My bet is that the DOSbox still won't run right if windozz code
is being run.
I'll also note that another problem exists with the DOSbox in
that it won't access ports unless they are specifically indicated
to the emulator that they are to be addressed which means that
you have to know where they are in the machine's address space.
In addition, since it is being run as an emulator, everything
will be running slower but that doesn't matter for most anywha as
the machine is so fast.
Also, with the later versions of windoz, the disk drives are not
accessible if you boot with an old version of DOS as the drive
layout is different and thus, DOS won't understand what is on the
hard disk.  Been there and tried that one!
I think that a trip to Fry's is in order to see how bad the
DOSbox is going to be with some of the old programs.  I like Dave
Rowe's TRACE program for quickly finding solutions to some of the
designs as it will optimize without any real need for high
amounts of directions.  Maybe I need to finagle the code out of
Dave and see if I can get it into Visual Basic.
