I am not sure I understand how in details your setup was done.
Traditionally, the flats are lying horizontally with light source directly
above.
Is it what you did? Or did you for example lighten up the ceiling with
the "frosted" lenses?
Also, I never saw "frosted" lenses, who would one be interested in such a
thing, so I guess it's hard to find?
On the other hand I can well imagine that you may easily replace those?
