Re: [ATM] Ellison's book
Yes, well, I think this is definitely worthwhile, but I had discussions
about such matters many times with librarians over here in Sweden, who
were systematically scanning older technical and medical literature. The
Royal Technical College library in Stockholm has some of these books and
they had discussed a scanning project long ago. I would not be surprised
if these books now exist already in electronic form.
There is a service that many of us in academia have access to called
Ebrary and it is an electronic archive of many thousands of scientific
books in their entirety. It might be worthwhile checking with them what
they have already done and maybe get tips about other projects. I also
once ran into an online collection of older optics books and catalogs. I
think that ultimately came from someone in this list.

I am a professor of Computer Science and have access to the technology to do this without much suffering.
