I just finished reading "Giant Telescopes" by McCray.  Wonderful read, not
only for its chronicle of the past several decades of large telescopes
culminating in the Gemini Scope, but also for the interesting parallels to
the amateur telescope world (technology's impact on our relationship to our
telescopes).   Mel Bartels
