Yes, that's how I see it. Someone said they can see a quasar with an 8",
that's pretty far away, according to the big-bang folks. I can see a quasar
with my 22". You can see a quasar with a 200", but how much farther than
that can you see with it?


The other one I hate is: "how powerful is that thing?" I like to say "22",
because I say aperture is power (magnification is not power, no matter what
the advertiser tells you). Of course, that answer usually draws scorn and
contempt. Because people think, since a 60mm telescope with plastic lenses
can do 500 'power', my 22" should be able to do 50000x or so.
