Re: [ATM] FW: Sidewalk or Grass walk rookie observer's

Hi Scott,

If you are implying that the light we see from 3C273 gets here
instantaneous. I believe you would be incorrect in that. Btw,
I dont hold an advanced degree in either astronomy and physics
so if I'm incorrect perhaps someone else can enlighten me. The
whole concept of light boggles my mind ever since I took up
astronomy. I was fine with it when you just turned a light bulb
on you got light lol

Here's another example, super nova 1987a for instance, if lights
trip was instantaneous then we would of miss that SN by 160 000
years.

Ozzy

I believe my physics class can come into use here. If I am correct he is
talking about Einstein's theory of relativity which states that as you
approach the speed of light time slows, but doesn't appear to the object or
person.

An example would be two twins the same age. One stays on earth, The other in
a space craft flying away from earth and then returning at nearly light
speed. Say that 10 years past for the person on earth. The person who was on
the space craft might think only 4 years (or whatever) had passed and would
physically look like it too I believe.
