Subject: [ATM] Bartel on Polishing
Nice reminder. Very good points not to be overlooked . One question. As you
well know, Carl Zambuto recommends long hrs of polishing(12 hrs I believe
for alot/most? of his optics.....) what are your thoughts on that? when
does the law of diminishing returns kick in? Is there data somewhere
supporting extended polishing???
Cheers---Jeff Newsom
A letter someone posted on one of the groups that Zambuto had wrote
theorized that you not only want to get all the pits out but the
"sub-surface" micro fractures deeper within caused by grinding to get a
"truly" polished surface.
