Hi all,
I have been following the discussion on so the called "lapping powders" and the possibility of using them on a pitch lap. It would certainly destroy the lap for any conventional work, but could it provide some fast figuring for deep curves? I have been working on a RC secondary which requires a pretty deep convex conic and am having trouble with the figuring. How about charging a pitch lap with 3 micron aluminum oxide instead of cerium oxide? 
Well, probably the best way to find out what happens is to try it!
