[ATM] Question about an old military surplus telescope

Some decades ago I bought a battered old ex-military telescope at an 
auction.  I'm pretty sure it was military surplus from WWII (the sort 
Edmund Scientific sold into the 1960s).

It's made mostly of brass (painted khaki), has a large Erfle style 
eyepiece, a ~1" achromatic objective and uses an Amici roof prism to 
bend the light through 90 deg.  It was designed to bolt onto something 
(probably a tank). It used to have a rubber eyeguard but that's long 
since gone.

Does any one have an idea what the model number was for this? (M-something?)
