Chris,  This is similar to what I do with my wire spiders.  If the beads
are really metal, and not metal coated plastic, then you should able to
bend the wire over and solder the wire and bead together.  Also rather
than drilling a hole, why not make a slot with a thin kerf blade.  The
PVC should be thick enough to take the limited tension you need on the
wires.  I use 1 inch aluminum tubing, 0.065 inch wall and haven't had a
piece deform yet.

I would send along photos, but my cheap digital camera just quit on my,
and I don't have a web site.  I have written instructions that I have
sent out several times since I first joined this list almost a decade
ago.  I won't trash up the list again, but if anyone wantrs them, I can
send them to them.
